Another masterpiece to roll out of the FJ Company workshop. You've no doubt heard of the FJ40 Land Cruiser, one of the most iconic vintage 4x4´s on the road, and increasingly popular on the classic car circuit...

Nicknamed "the Troopy" because it was originally designed to convey Colombian National Guard members around the countryside, the FJ45 was produced in Japan from 1976 to 1986 in small batches.

The team at The FJ Company got ahold of one and mastery restored and modified the thing into a work of the art, which you can treat your eyes to below. Juan Diego Calle's grandfather bought a sky blue FJ40 Land Cruiser in 1968. He kept it for 14 years, then gave it to a family member and bought a sky blue 1982 FJ40.

Every year, aftermarket parts suppliers, speed shops, and even a few major manufacturers descend on Las Vegas for the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) trade show. Unlike an auto show, SEMA is closed to the public, but it's a major event for gearheads.

That 2,000-horsepower monster may have garnered the lion's share of attention when it came to Toyota Land Cruisers at the SEMA show this year, but those who appreciate craftsmanship and classic forms will want to take a look at the vehicle you see here.  

If you´re a fan of old Toyota FJ´s, odds are you´ve heard about the Miami-based FJ Company. They build and restore some of the most magnificent FJ´s around, even making some available for sale to those with enough coin in their pocket and love in their heart.

The FJ Company is making its debut at the SEMA show in Las Vegas this year, and they're bringing a very special build with them: a custom FJ43 Land Cruiser referred to as "The Aspen Project". The build, which was unveiled at their booth #51315 at SEMA earlier today, is one part classic Land Cruiser, one part modified monster - a careful balancing act - one they DID NOT take lightly.  

This is a one-off commissioned by a guy who wanted to take his family on regular outings near his Aspen, Colorado home.
