The Toyota Land Cruiser was first launched in 1951 as a military vehicle, and it was both larger and more powerful than the US Jeep. For over 60 years it has been used to conquer unforgiving terrains, as a partner on unforgettable adventures, or as a reliable vehicle on humanitarian missions.

Face it, the hipsters won. All things quaint and ironically archaic are now universally cool and there's not a damn thing you can do about it. Case in point: this tin Toyota is the sexiest thing you've ever seen.

The FJ Company was built on a family's passion for restoring FJ's. They got their hands on their latest effort in the middle of 2015 and created something amazing.  

Tough, reliable, and endlessly capable - it's not hard to see why engineers and tradesmen working in the world's harshest terrain use Toyota Land Cruisers to get around. If a Land Cruiser can get you into the wild, there's a good chance it'll bring you right back out too.

A warehouse tucked away in the bowels of Miami; unassuming in its green facade, with a barely noticeable sign above the door. It reads "Classic Motors LLC," and without direction, it would blur into the surrounding shops and restaurants without a second thought.

While we'd all like to be perfect stewards of the automobile, sometimes... we're not. Cars get used. They get abused. They get driven hard, and put away wet. Some more than others.

Some vehicles simply tend to get better with age. Toyota's classic FJ40 happens to be one of those automobiles. FJ Company recently got their hands on a 1978 edition and in turn restored it to perfection.

Our friends from FJ Company, specialize in performing full, frame-off restorations of the classic Japanese Toyota FJ series. Their latest masterpiece is this beautiful 1978 Land Cruiser FJ40, a build they consider to be their best work to date.    

The Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser and the Land Rover did battle for sales dominance across Africa, Australia, South America and Asia throughout the 1960s, #39;70s, #39;80s and beyond. No clear winner ever emerged and the modern day supporters of each marque have a hard earned and begrudging respect for one another.

Setting the benchmark for durability and resilience, the Toyota Land Cruiser has been a stalwart in automotive culture since it emerged in 1951. Carrying a no-nonsense attitude, the Land Cruiser only features the bare essentials, which seemingly adds to the Cruiser's rugged appeal.
