1983 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 – The EPM Survivor
Not every Land Cruiser begins its second life as a collectible.Some earned that privilege.This FJ40 spent its first years serving one of South America's most important public utilities—Empresas Públicas de Medellín (EPM)—helping build and maintain the infrastructure that transformed Colombia during the 1980s.

The History
In February 1983, Toyota Motor Corporation shipped a batch of 108 FJ40LV-KC Land Cruisers from Nagoya, Japan, directly to Empresas Públicas de Medellín.The shipment departed aboard the Ciudad de Popayán, arrived in Buenaventura, Colombia, and was destined for EPM's utility fleet.The original Toyota invoice, bill of lading, customs documentation and EPM records accompany this restoration.Among those 108 vehicles was chassis FJ40-361674. This very Land Cruiser.
The accompanying documentation traces its journey from Toyota's factory floor to service within EPM's fleet, preserving an exceptionally rare chain of provenance that few utility vehicles retain more than forty years later.

The Restoration Philosophy
Rather than erase its working life, this project set out to preserve it.The goal was never to build a concours restoration.Nor was it to manufacture artificial age.Instead, we carefully stabilized and preserved the original green finish wherever possible, allowing decades of honest wear to remain visible while rebuilding every mechanical system underneath.
