What types of Toyota Land Cruisers do you sell?

We sell custom built Toyota FJ25, FJ40, FJ43FJ45 and FJ60 Land Cruisers.  All of our Land Cruisers are restored to like-new condition, and most include minor modifications to improve driveability and reliability on US highways.  For example, power steering, front disk brakes, roll bar, and a more modern suspension.  Most of our clients use their vehicles as weekend drivers and a number of them as collectibles or as trailer queens.   We focus on Japanese-made FJs with little rust and an unaltered chassis. We limit our selection to vehicles that maintain their original engines and transmissions, guaranteeing that our Land Cruisers will be valuable and authentic restorations.

Can you restore my FJ?

Yes!  We provide a white-glove restoration service to customers world wide.  Ship your vehicle to our facility in Miami, Florida, and we'll take care of the rest. Your vehicle will go through our state of the art facility in Bogota, Colombia and it returns nine months later in "like new" condition.  During the process, you will receive monthly photo updates in high-resolution.  Pricing and further details are available here.

What is the restoration process like?

We follow the same strict restoration process for every Land Cruiser that we sell, irrespective of the vehicle's condition (learn more about the process here). In industry lingo, these are typically called "frame-off" restorations.   The vehicle is stripped down to its chassis, the engine and transmission are rebuilt to like-new condition, the body is completely stripped of its paint and repainted, new interiors are hand made, and new emblems and body parts are installed where needed.   We don't do partial restorations. If you're new to vehicle restoration, check out our FJ restoration guide.

How long does it take to restore a Land Cruiser?

It takes us 9 months to restore a vehicle. That time starts at the point of contracting and ends with the inspection and delivery of your vehicle. On average, approximately 1200 to 1500 man-hours go into the restoration process.

How much is a custom built FJ40 purchased from The FJ Company?

Our custom built 40 Series Land Cruisers typically start at US $55,000 and can go up to $150,000 for highly customized or rare models.  Please inquire below for pricing on 20 and 60 Series Land Cruisers. Our pricing includes the donor vehicle, any parts needed for the restoration, labor, and shipping the car to you within the Continental U.S.  If you would like your Land Cruiser shipped internationally, additional transport and customs fees will apply.

Will I save some money by sending you my own vehicle?

Most of the customers that send us their Land Cruiser to restore do so because they have a very unique model or a strong emotional attachment to it. Generally speaking, the restoration and shipping costs will be largely the same as buying one directly from our inventory. Get in touch with us for a more detailed estimate on your restoration!

How can I buy an FJ Land Cruiser from you?

We offer our clients several ways to own the Land Cruiser of their dreams:

  1. You can buy a fully restored FJ40 or FJ43 from our available inventory. We have to warn you though, these go fast!
  2. You may purchase a restoration project which affords our clients the greatest flexibility in terms of customization.
  3. If you have your heart set on a specific model that is not in our inventory, we can find one for you.
  4. Finally, we can take your existing Land Cruiser and make it shine.

Where do you source your Land Cruisers from?

We source Land Cruisers from all over the world as long as they were produced in the Toyota factory in Japan.   Many of them are coming from Latin America, where the high altitude of the Andes mountains keeps these vehicles mostly free from rust. The more exotic models have come from places as remote as Montana in the USA, Saudi Arabia and even directly from Japan.  Irrespective of where they come from, they all go through the same restoration process and are upgraded with power steering, front disk brakes, roll bar, and a more modern suspension, unless something different is specifically requested by our client.

Do you have a Land Cruiser you want to sell? You can send us more information about it here.

Do you sell used or non-restored Land Cruisers?

We do not. We only sell fully restored Toyota Land Cruisers.

Can you build a right-hand driver for those of us that live in countries that drive on the left side of the road?

Yes! We can build right-hand-side FJs at request.

Can you help me find a specific model?

Yes! We can find just about anything. It may take some time, but we'll find it.

Do you sell parts?

We do not sell parts. However, we do source parts for customers that have purchased their vehicles from us.

What are the payment terms to buy a vehicle from you?

For finished restorations, we receive full payment at the time of inspection, prior to delivering the Land Cruiser to its new owner. For restoration projects, we typically divide payment into three installments. We request a first payment at the time of contracting, a second payment before we begin body paint work and a third payment at the time of inspection, prior to shipping the vehicle to its new owner.   But don't worry: ask about our money-back guarantee.

Your vehicle will be available for inspection at our showroom in Miami, Florida or by video call.

Can you ship the car to my country?

Yes, we've shipped cars all over the world.

Do you restore other Toyota models?

We have a core competence restoring FJ25, FJ40, FJ43 and FJ45 Land Cruisers. We do occasionally restore more recent models such as the FJ60 and FJ70.
